Job summary

The Post Oak Hotel is seeking an In-Room Dining Order Taker to join our Forbes Five-Star luxury team in Houston. You will take guest orders by phone and in person, maintain detailed knowledge of menu items, and upsell additional offerings to enhance guest experiences.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of restaurant experience and a passion for hospitality. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of restaurant experience.
• Ability to listen effectively and maintain strong attention to detail.
• Previous hotel luxury or Forbes experience preferred.
• Flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Physical demands: move and handle items up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Take guest orders via phone and in-person with accuracy.
• Communicate dietary needs, allergies, and special requests to the kitchen.
• Post orders correctly in POS system for service and kitchen communication.
• Maintain cleanliness of work and guest areas; restock and reset as needed.
• Close out shifts with proper restocking and cleanliness.
• Follow safety, security policies, and report hazards or injuries.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect assets.
• Provide clear, professional communication with guests and team members.
• Be knowledgeable about The Post Oak and its services.
