Job summary

UPMC Southwestern PA invites applications for a Lung Transplant Surgeon fellowship in Pennsylvania. The program offers advanced training across two high-volume services, with graded responsibility toward independence under division co-chiefs.

The fellowship is rotation-based and includes teaching junior fellows and residents, bedside teaching, and structured didactics. The fellow will lead day-to-day inpatient management of heart and lung transplant patients, coordinate multidisciplinary care,

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day management of heart and lung transplant inpatients, including pre-, intra-, and postoperative care, ICU rounding, and discharge planning.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care with transplant cardiology, pulmonology, advanced heart and lung failure teams, ECMO/VAD services, infectious diseases, pharmacy, PT/OT, social work, and care management.
• Participate in organ offers/list management, selection conferences, operative planning, and OR participation for transplant and related procedures.
• Engage in quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives within the transplant programs.
• Participate in call as assigned.
