Job summary

UPMC Southwestern PA invites applications for a Lung Transplant Surgeon Fellowship in Pennsylvania. The program provides advanced training across two high-volume services.

The fellow will assist in Heart and Lung Transplant services with graded independence under the guidance of division co-chiefs and will rotate, while also serving as a teaching assistant for junior cardiothoracic fellows and residents, contributing to bedside teaching and didactics.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day management of heart and lung transplant inpatients, including pre-, intra-, and postoperative care, ICU rounding, and discharge planning.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care with transplant cardiology, pulmonology, advanced heart and lung failure teams, ECMO/VAD services, infectious diseases, pharmacy, PT/OT, social work, and care management.
• Participate in organ offers/list management, selection conferences, operative planning, and OR participation for transplant and related procedures.
• Engage in quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives within the transplant programs.
• Participate in call as assigned.
