Job summary

UPMC is offering a Lung Transplant Fellowship in Pennsylvania to train a Heart & Lung Transplant Fellow under the guidance of division co-chiefs. The program is rotation-based with a focus on surgical management and bedside teaching for junior cardiothoracic fellows and residents.

The fellowship emphasizes multidisciplinary collaboration, involvement in organ offers, and structured didactics, with competitive compensation and opportunities for career development within a leading transplant

Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day management of heart and lung transplant inpatients, including pre-, intra-, and postoperative care, ICU rounding, and discharge planning.
Coordinate multidisciplinary care with transplant cardiology, pulmonology, ECMO/VAD services, infectious diseases, pharmacy, PT/OT, social work, and care management.
Participate in organ offers/list management, selection conferences, operative planning, and OR participation for transplant procedures.
Engage in quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives within the transplant programs.
Participate in on-call as assigned.
