Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Valve Responsible Engineer to own valve components across their life cycle, from requirements through flight operations for the lunar transport program.

You will lead end-to-end design, perform analyses (structures, thermal, flow), and work with suppliers and manufacturing to deliver flight hardware while mentoring junior engineers in a safety-first, inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years in valve or mechanical/fluids component design.
• Experience with cryogenic/propellant service is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own valve designs end-to-end from requirements to flight acceptance.
• Perform structural, thermal, and flow analyses; coordinate with analysis team.
• Size components, select materials, and evaluate performance under load.
• Create drawings with GD&T per ASME Y14.5 for manufacturability.
• Model valves and interfaces in Creo within flight vehicle assembly.
• Coordinate with suppliers, procurement, and manufacturing for flight hardware.
• Support development and qualification testing; analyze data and iterate.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in peer reviews.
