Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Valve Responsible Engineer to own valve components through the full life cycle—from requirements through design, testing, verification, and flight operations. You will contribute to the next generation of valves for crewed lunar vehicles, enabling a sustained human presence on the Moon.

The role requires 4+ years in valve or mechanical/fluids design, Creo proficiency, and experience with propulsion or cryogenic systems.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of valve or mechanical/fluids component design experience.
• Experience with propulsion and fluid system components for cryogenic services.
• Proficiency with Creo for part and assembly modeling.
• GD&T to component drawings.
• Familiarity with ANSYS or Thermal Desktop.

Responsibilities

• Own valve designs end-to-end: requirements, interfaces, design, release, testing, and issue resolution.
• Perform first-order structural, thermal, and flow analyses; coordinate higher-fidelity modeling.
• Size components, select materials, evaluate performance under pressure, vibration, temp.
• Create drawings with GD&T per ASME Y14.5 for manufacturability.
• Model valves, fittings, actuators, and interfaces in Creo for flight assembly.
• Coordinate with suppliers, procurement, and manufacturing to source and deliver hardware.
• Support development and qualification testing; analyze data and iterate designs.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in peer reviews.
