Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Valve Responsible Engineer in California to own valve designs end-to-end—from requirements definition to flight operations. You will model in Creo, apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5, and collaborate with analysis, procurement, and manufacturing teams to deliver flight hardware for lunar transport vehicles.

The role requires 4+ years in valve/mechanical design, knowledge of cryogenic/propellant systems, and experience with FEA/CFD tools. U.S.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years designing valve or mechanical/fluids components.
• Experience with cryogenic/propellant service components.

Responsibilities

• Own valve designs end-to-end including requirements and interfaces.
• Perform structural, thermal, and flow analyses; coordinate with analysis team.
• Size components, select materials, evaluate performance under loads.
• Create drawings with GD&T per ASME Y14.5 for manufacturability.
• Model valves and interfaces in Creo within flight vehicle assembly.
• Coordinate with suppliers, procurement, and manufacturing for flight hardware.
• Support development/qualification testing and analyze data.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in peer reviews.
