Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Valve Responsible Engineer to own valve designs across the complete lifecycle for crewed lunar transport hardware. You will drive requirements, interface definitions, and detailed design, ensuring manufacturability and flight readiness while coordinating with suppliers and the broader propulsion team.

Qualifications

• Requires end-to-end valve design ownership.
• Experience with design interfaces and tolerances.
• Strong collaboration with analysis and manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities

• Own valve designs end-to-end: requirements, interfaces, detailed design, drawing release, test support, and anomaly resolution
• Perform first-order structural, thermal, and flow analyses; coordinate with analysis team for higher-fidelity modeling (FEA, CFD)
• Size components, select materials, and evaluate performance under pressure, vibration, temperature, and loads
• Create drawings and apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5 for manufacturable hardware
• Model valves, fittings, actuators, and interfaces in Creo within flight vehicle assembly
• Coordinate with suppliers, procurement, and manufacturing to source, fabricate, and deliver flight hardware
