Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Valve Responsible Engineer to own valve designs end-to-end, from requirements through flight-ready hardware. You will model in Creo, apply GD&T to drawings, and coordinate with suppliers and test teams for qualification and delivery of lunar vehicle components.

You’ll perform basic analyses, define test requirements, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to enable a sustained human presence on the Moon.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of valve or mechanical/fluids component design experience.
• Proficiency with Creo for part/assembly modeling.
• GD&T on component drawings and ASME Y14.5 familiarity.
• Experience with design analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS, Thermal Desktop).
• Ability to define test requirements and analyze data.
• U.S. citizenship or acceptable residency per export controls.

Responsibilities

• Own valve designs end-to-end from requirements to release and testing.
• Perform basic structural, thermal, and flow analyses; coordinate with higher-fidelity models.
• Size components, select materials and evaluate under pressure, vibration, temperature.
• Create drawings with GD&T for manufacturable hardware.
• Model valves and interfaces in Creo within flight vehicle assembly.
• Coordinate with suppliers, procurement, and manufacturing for hardware delivery.
• Support development/qualification testing and iterate designs.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in peer reviews.
