Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a senior design leader to oversee a team of drafters and design engineers for the Transfer Stage Vehicle in the Lunar Permanence unit. You will guide CAD model creation, alignment with program requirements, and ensure on-time delivery within budget.

As a senior leader, you will recruit, mentor, and develop talent, build robust plans, and drive process improvements while maintaining safety and quality in aerospace design.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• 10+ years directly related experience in mechanical design.
• Experience leading a team of drafters and design engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of designers in generating, integrating, and releasing CAD models.
• Recruit, hire, and mentor team members and manage professional development.
• Develop tools and processes to improve team capability and performance.
• Develop robust plans meeting deliverables with key metrics (technical, schedule, risk).
• Monitor progress and communicate status to leadership; ensure optimal design-to-delivery.
