Job summary

Blue Origin's Mission Operations Training Team is seeking a Lunar Operations Training Engineer to define, develop, and deliver comprehensive training solutions for astronauts and flight controllers. You will translate operational requirements into mockups, curricula, and simulations to support high-fidelity spaceflight training.

The role requires collaboration with systems engineering, structures, crew systems, and avionics, owning training hardware from concept to commissioning and conducting

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in engineering or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years in operations, systems engineering, or project management.
• Ownership of projects from requirements definition through delivery, incl. system-level integration and test activities (e.g., Test Readiness Reviews).
• Ability to work independently on problems of varied scope with minimal oversight, strong technical judgment.

Responsibilities

• Lead project management efforts for training hardware development from concept through commissioning.
• Serve as the primary technical/programmatic point of contact between the Mission Operations Training Team and internal/external engineering development teams and vendors.
• Translate training objectives into clear, verifiable technical requirements for mockups, courses, and software.
• Collaborate with systems engineering, structures, crew systems, avionics, etc. to meet fidelity and functionality requirements.
• Oversee the verification and validation of training hardware for training effectiveness and human-in-the-loop testing.
• Own operational documentation including project plans, interface control documents, test procedures, and manuals.
• Own the requirements, development, and execution of spaceflight mission training events using instructor-led training, rehearsals, and hardware demonstrations.
