Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to optimize lunar production at a state-of-the-art facility in Washington. You will lead manufacturing integration, apply lean principles, and ensure timely delivery of high‑quality components for human spaceflight programs.

This hands-on role requires strong communication, organization, and project management skills, plus a passion for safety and quality in a high-tech aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of manufacturing experience, aerospace or high-tech preferred.
• Familiarity with ERP, MES, and PLM/MRP systems.
• Knowledge of lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
• Detail-oriented with focus on quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design workflows and production processes to boost efficiency and cut costs.
• Apply lean manufacturing and continuous improvement to operations.
• Collaborate with design/engineering to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
• Conduct time and motion studies to optimize labor use and cycle times.
• Update durations and build days in MES based on time studies.
• Perform capacity planning and resource allocation to meet deadlines.
• Monitor production metrics and address variances or quality issues.
• Develop SOPs and best practices for production.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure regulatory and company compliance.
• Track product health and apply program management to deliver executable plans.
