Job summary

Blue Origin seeks an experienced Operational Excellence Leader specializing in Lean Six Sigma to drive continuous improvement across Lunar Operations. This role requires leading through influence, coordinating across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program Management, and delivering measurable KPI improvements.

The candidate will operate in ambiguity, mentor teams, and advance a culture of operational excellence aligned with Blue Origin's mission to build a road to space.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Operations or related field.
• 12-15 years of experience in operational excellence or related roles.
• Certification in Six Sigma Green Belt (Black Belt preferred), Lean, PMP, or equivalent methodologies.
• Demonstrated experience implementing Lean Six Sigma methodologies in complex operations.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, or similar regulated industries.
• Strong facilitation and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Proven ability to lead through influence rather than direct authority.
• Experience managing in ambiguous, rapidly changing environments.

Responsibilities

• Drive Lean Six Sigma implementation across Lunar Operations.
• Lead cross-functional workshops to optimize processes.
• Identify opportunities and share best practices across operations.
• Develop and track KPIs to measure process performance.
• Lead without formal authority across teams.
• Communicate with shop floor to executives.
• Mentor and develop team members.
• Coordinate teams across lunar operations projects.
• Build consensus and enforce accountability across functions.
• Develop structured change-management approaches.
• Anticipate roadblocks and formulate mitigations.
• Create sustainable root-cause solutions.
