Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced Principal Industrial Engineer to optimize lunar manufacturing operations on the Space Coast, FL. You will blend hands-on engineering, workforce planning, and program management to improve production processes and ensure safety and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities include analyzing workflows, applying lean methods, conducting time studies, and leading cross-functional collaboration with design, manufacturing, and quality teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of manufacturing experience, aerospace or high-tech preferred.
• Familiarity with ERP/PLM/MES/MRP systems and production tracking.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design production workflows to elevate efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
• Apply lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement strategies to operations.
• Collaborate with design and engineering to validate manufacturability and drive improvements.
• Conduct time and motion studies; update build durations and labor requirements in MES.
• Perform capacity planning and resource allocation to maximize output and meet targets.
• Develop and refine SOPs and best practices for manufacturing and assembly.
• Monitor and report product performance metrics; lead corrective action initiatives.
• Lead risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety regulations and policies.
• Capture and share lessons learned across teams; support program management strategies.
