Job summary

Blue Origin in Merritt Island, FL is seeking a hydrogen and oxygen propulsion hardware design engineer to own the fluids & propulsion subsystems for the MK2 Crew Lander. You will design, model, analyze, and test hydrogen/oxygen fluid systems, manage supplier engagement, and drive manufacturability from concept to flight readiness.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience designing cryogenic tubes and fluid components.
• Experience generating 3D models and drawings in Creo for complex fluid hardware.
• Professional experience specifying fluid fittings and mounts.
• Experience performing the structural hand calculations and analysis with tools such as ANSYS.
• Experience interpreting P&IDs
• Expertise in ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
• Experience with static and non-linear FEA analysis (ANSYS).
• Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills with ability to directly interface with external parties including government and commercial entities.
• Ability to earn trust and maintain positive and professional relationships.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
