Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced engineer to design and own fluid systems components for crewed lunar lander hardware. You will create CAD models, drive manufacturability, and collaborate with suppliers to deliver robust fluid hardware from concept through verification and operation.

The role requires strong Creo modeling, P&ID interpretation, and FEA experience, with a focus on cryogenic tubes and plumbing for the MK2 program. U.S. citizenship or equivalent eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field.
• 8+ years designing cryogenic tubes and fluid components.
• Experience generating 3D models and drawings in Creo for complex fluid hardware.
• Professional experience specifying fluid fittings and mounts.
• Experience performing structural hand calculations and analysis with ANSYS.
• Experience interpreting P&IDs (P&ID diagrams).
• ASME Y14.5 GD&T expertise.
• Experience with static and non-linear FEA (ANSYS).
• Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Generate CAD models for fluid system hardware and components.
• Lead design-for-manufacturability efforts for fluid assemblies.
• Coordinate with procurement and suppliers to manage hardware and vendor deliverables.
• Define supporting hardware such as heaters, instrumentation, mounts, and valves.
• Perform basic structural analysis on fluid system hardware.
