Job summary

Blue Origin, based in Colorado, is seeking an engineer to support CAD models and design documentation for avionics enclosures and related equipment for lunar missions.

Join a cross-functional team of engineers, specialists, and designers delivering flight-critical avionics while collaborating with Electrical, Systems, Manufacturing, and Quality groups. Relocation is provided; travel up to 15% of the time is expected.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• 2+ years designing ruggedized electronics enclosures.
• Experience with static structural, modal, random vibration, and thermal analysis.
• Strong mechanical design and integration using 3D CAD and FEA tools.
• GD&T experience and familiarity with ASME Y14.5.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• U.S. citizenship or eligible status for U.S. work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Contribute on a cross-disciplinary team in a fast-paced design environment.
• Participate in the entire design cycle of flight and mission-critical avionics.
• Support developmental trade studies and documentation.
• Create mechanical interfaces, specifications, and control documents.
• Collaborate with Electrical to integrate PCB/Interconnect systems with thermal/structural analysis.
• Design avionics enclosures for high reliability in harsh environments.
