Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Bellevue/Greater Seattle area seeks a Motor Controls Engineer to develop embedded motor control software and drive a family of controllers for lunar vehicles.

You will test, verify, and integrate designs with Lunar Avionics sub-systems, support FMECA and mission assurance, and work with applications in the field to meet safety standards. This hands-on role blends hardware and software across production.

Qualifications

• 3+ years avionics hardware and/or control system design.
• Experience with Matlab/Simulink and autocode generation in HDL or C/C++.
• Experience with electromechanical system modeling and calibration against physical systems.
• Experience with implementing high-performance control algorithms in resource constrained MCUs.
• Hands-on experience with development and production hardware.
• Familiarity with embedded hardware, including inverters, gate drivers, ADCs, SPI, I2C, UART, PWM, and MCUs.

Responsibilities

• Work with team to deliver a family of motor controllers for lunar vehicles.
• Develop and own motor control embedded software across controllers.
• Test, verify, and integrate motor control designs with lunar vehicle subsystems.
• Support FMECA, root-cause analysis, and safety initiatives.
• Contribute to program technology development and avionics process improvements.
• Communicate development status, risks, and challenges to management.
