Job summary

R.P. Lumber Co. seeks a Yard Associate to ensure prompt, courteous service while maintaining safety and cleanliness at the yard. You will assist in loading, stocking, and preparing loads for delivery, and support delivery crews with unloading and staging materials.

The role requires reliability, basic building materials knowledge, and the ability to operate a forklift. Missouri locations require a Class E license; weekend availability is often needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of prior related work experience preferred.
• Missouri requires a valid Class E driver’s license.
• Highly organized with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and contractors with courtesy in the yard or Home Retail Center.
• Load materials into customers’ vehicles or onto delivery vehicles based on POS records.
• Unload freight carefully to avoid damage to goods or equipment.
• Operate forklift to stock and merchandise yard and warehouse.
• Build and prepare loads for delivery and assist in deliveries to homes and job sites.
• Respond to inquiries regarding product selection, orders, pricing, scheduling, and installations.
