Job summary

R.P. Lumber Co. is seeking a Yard Associate to ensure prompt, courteous service while maintaining a safe, clean yard. You will help store products and maintain equipment, support deliveries, and assist in loading and unloading shingles, drywall, lumber, and millwork.

The role includes building loads for delivery, aiding truck drivers, and handling inquiries about products and pricing. A strong team player with good communication will thrive in this hands-on position at our Missouri location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of prior related work experience preferred.
• Missouri Class E driver’s license required.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Pre-employment drug testing and background checks required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers or contractors in a friendly manner on entry to yard.
• Load materials into customers' vehicles or company delivery vehicles based on POS records.
• Unload incoming freight without damage to goods or carrier equipment.
• Operate forklift to merchandise and stock yard and warehouse.
• Build loads accurately and prepare materials for delivery.
• Assist truck drivers in delivery to homeowners and job sites using company equipment.
• Respond to customer inquiries on product selection, orders, prices, and delivery scheduling.
• Maintain inventory, displays, and pricing labels in the yard to keep area organized, safe, and well stocked.
• Follow all safety rules and policies communicated by management.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Yard Manager.
