Job summary

R.P. Lumber Co. is seeking a Yard Associate to ensure prompt, courteous service while upholding safety, accountability, and cleanliness at the yard.

You will assist in deliveries, build loads, operate forklifts, stock inventory, and help customers with product selection, pricing, and scheduling under the Yard Manager.

The role requires reliability, teamwork, and a willingness to perform a variety of yard and delivery tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of related work experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license; Missouri locations may require Class E license.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Pre-employment drug testing and background/driver checks required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers or contractors warmly on entry to yard.
• Load materials onto customers' vehicles or delivery trucks per POS records.
• Unload freight without damage to goods or carrier equipment.
• Operate forklift to merchandise and stock yard and warehouse.
• Build loads accurately and prepare materials for delivery.
• Assist truck drivers in delivery to homeowners and job sites.
• Respond to inquiries on product selection, orders, prices, and deliveries.
• Maintain inventory, displays, and pricing labels; keep area clean and organized.
• Follow safety rules and policies; perform duties as assigned by Yard Manager.
