Job summary

R.P. Lumber Co. is seeking a Yard Associate to ensure prompt, courteous service and a safe, organized yard operation. You will help load and unload materials, stock the yard, assist in deliveries, and maintain accurate product placement.

The role requires forklift familiarity (training provided), strong communication, and flexibility to work weekends. This full-time position offers competitive wages and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of related work experience preferred.
• Acceptable driving record and valid driver's license.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Pre-employment drug testing and background checks required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers or contractors in a friendly manner.
• Load materials into customers' vehicles or company delivery trucks per POS records.
• Unload incoming freight without damaging goods or equipment.
• Operate forklift to merchandise and stock yard and warehouse.
• Accurately build loads and prepare materials for delivery.
• Assist truck drivers in delivery to homeowners and job sites.
• Respond to customer inquiries about products, orders, pricing, deliveries and installations.
• Maintain inventory, displays, and pricing labels; keep area organized and safe.
• Follow all safety rules and policies set by management.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Yard Manager.
