Job summary

AutoNation is seeking a Non-Certified Technician to inspect and service vehicles delivered to the dealer, performing minor repairs to place vehicles in saleable condition. The role involves testing steering, brakes, transmission, and engine operation, and installing optional equipment as requested by customers or the dealer.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and basic mechanical skills.

• General mechanical skills and aptitude.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Sign an acceptance for each vehicle delivered.
• Inspect vehicles for safety and cosmetic defects.
• Test steering, brakes, transmission and engine operation on test drive.
• Replace defective items using hand tools per specifications.
• Install optional equipment such as mirrors, rugs, or seat covers.
• Perform minor mechanical repairs and adjustments as needed.
• Tune engines using appropriate test equipment.
