Job summary

AutoNation is hiring a Non-Certified Technician to inspect and service vehicles on delivery and perform minor repairs to place cars in saleable condition.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, basic mechanical skills, and a valid driver's license. You will use hand tools, test equipment, and perform safety checks, with opportunities for training and OEM certification support across the nationwide network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6-12 months of previous work experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
• General mechanical skills.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
• Manual dexterity, good judgment and ability to operate power and hand tools safely.
• Ability to operate an automobile.

Responsibilities

• Sign an acceptance for each vehicle delivered.
• Inspect vehicles for safety compliance and defects.
• Inspect surfaces for chips and scratches in paint.
• Start engine and drive to test operation.
• Activate power equipment to meet standards.
• Install optional equipment per customer/Dealer specs.
• Install or repair major mechanical/electrical equipment.
• Perform minor repairs and adjustments; tune engines.
