Job summary

AutoNation in Rockville, MD is seeking a Non-Certified Technician to inspect and service vehicles delivered to the dealer, making minor repairs or adjustments to place cars in saleable condition while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Day-to-day duties include signing for each vehicle, inspecting for dents and defects, starting engines to test steering, brakes and transmission, and operating power equipment and hand tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic mechanical skills and ability to read and comprehend instructions.
• Ability to operate power and hand tools safely.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Sign an acceptance for each vehicle delivered.
• Inspect vehicles for safety and cosmetic defects.
• Test engine, steering, brakes, transmission and overall operation.
• Operate power equipment and hand tools; replace defective items as specified.
• Install optional equipment as requested by the customer or dealer.
