Job summary

AutoNation in Miami is seeking a Non-Certified Technician to inspect and service vehicles on delivery, performing minor repairs to ensure cars are in saleable condition.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, 6–12 months of mechanical experience, and a passion for cars and customer service. You will work with hands-on tools and test drive to verify operation, with training and advancement across the nationwide dealer network.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 6–12 months of relevant work experience.
  • Passion for cars and customer service.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
  • Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Sign an acceptance for each vehicle delivered.
  • Inspect vehicles for safety compliance and defects.
  • Inspect surfaces for chips and scratches in paint.
  • Start engine and drive the vehicle to test steering, brakes, transmission and engine operation.
  • Operate power equipment such as electric windows, seats, radio, horn, lights and directional signals to ensure standards.
  • Replace defective items using hand tools.
  • Install optional equipment specified by the customer or Dealer.
  • Install or repair major mechanical, hydraulic, or electromechanical equipment with hand tools.
  • Perform minor mechanical repairs and adjustments.
  • Tune engines using test equipment and tools as needed.
