Job summary

AutoNation is seeking a Non-Certified Technician to inspect and service vehicles as they arrive at the dealer, performing minor repairs to place cars in saleable condition. You will test drive, operate power equipment, and install optional equipment per customer specifications.

The role requires basic mechanical skills, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to read instructions. Training and advancement opportunities are available nationwide.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 6–12 months of previous work experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
  • General mechanical skills with safety awareness.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to drive manual transmission.

Responsibilities

  • Sign an acceptance for each vehicle delivered and inspect for safety and defects.
  • Inspect surfaces for chips and scratches in paint; test driving for operation.
  • Start engine and verify steering, brakes, transmission, and engine operation.
  • Operate power equipment and install optional equipment as specified.
  • Perform minor repairs, tune engines, and use appropriate tools.
