Job summary

Maersk Warehousing and Distribution USA LLC in Fontana, CA is seeking an Operations Supervisor to oversee inbound, outbound and P&D activities within an LTL environment. You will manage up to 150 employees across multiple shifts and ensure freight moves safely and efficiently while meeting service standards.

The role demands strong leadership, operational expertise, and a customer-focused mindset, with a path for professional growth and advancement in a dynamic logistics setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent background
• Minimum of 5 years supervisory or management experience
• Knowledge of all aspects of an LTL station preferred
• Must have good computer skills
• Must have strong leadership skills including the ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, mentor and terminate employees
• Customer Service focus
• Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills
• Excellent planning and organization skills
• Knowledge of hazardous materials preferred
• Must be able to work any shift including nights and/or weekends and in any weather condition
• Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
• Must be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct
• Must be able to interact well with others
• Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting
• Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple priorities

Responsibilities

• Lead, guide and direct employees to include setting goals, monitoring performance, providing coaching, counseling and development
• Accountable for the management of an efficient, clean and safe LTL operation to include dock planning and set up schedules
• Involved in hiring, training and terminations; assuring all paperwork is processed according to proper Company guidelines
• Enforce understanding and compliance with all Company policies and procedures, safety rules and government regulations
• Responsible for meeting all KPI’s assigned Ensure timely pickup and delivery of freight and verify freight for all billing
• Observe loading of trucks for proper handling and distribution of freight for transport
• Oversee operations to ensure customer satisfaction while minimizing costs
