Job summary

RPh on the Go is seeking a Pharmacist for Greensburg, PA to join a Long Term Care (LTC) Mail Order setting on a 26-week contract with potential for direct hire. The 2nd shift runs from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM or 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with availability required 7 days per week.

Responsibilities include dispensing medications, patient counseling, sterile compounding, supervising staff, and maintaining records while collaborating with physicians and nurses to ensure safe,

Qualifications

• Experience in Long Term Care (LTC) or Mail Order settings preferred.
• Sterile compounding experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal requirements.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and detect over-usage patterns to ensure proper use.
• Verify prescribed medications are appropriate and safe for patients.
• Maintain confidential and accurate patient records and pharmacy files.
• Provide patient counseling about medication usage, potential side effects, and related questions.
• Offer consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications, including storage, dosage, and drug interactions.
• Deliver services such as smoking cessation guidance, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on the correct use of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Compound medications for internal and external use, including sterile solutions following proper protocols.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and clerks to ensure smooth pharmacy operations.
• Keep inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies at appropriate levels.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to address drug-related problems.
