Job summary

Blue Origin in Seattle is seeking a control and system analysis engineer to advance Liquid Propulsion Rocket Engine (LPRE) control algorithms and simulation models. You will interface with engine controller hardware, software, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and vehicle control teams to influence control system design across development stages.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field (aerospace or mechanical preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in transient system modeling and control algorithm development.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork ability.
  • Ability to learn and apply guidance on engine modeling, simulation, and control analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engine and avionics systems engineers to develop and verify engine and control system performance
  • Collaborate with avionics software engineers to develop and verify high level software requirements
  • Develop and mature control, estimation, and system fault detection algorithms
  • Develop and mature verification reports for engine and control system
  • Develop and mature engine and control system transient models and analyses
  • Establish and mature standard work instructions for transient modeling and analysis methods
