Job summary

Blue Origin Engines is seeking a control and system analysis engineer to advance LPRE control algorithms and simulation models across the development lifecycle. You will coordinate with engine controllers, hardware-in-the-loop setups, and vehicle control teams to ensure robust engine performance and safety.

The role emphasizes leadership, mentorship, and a thorough understanding of transient modeling, estimation, and fault detection. Relocation may be provided for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.S. degree in relevant engineering subject area (aerospace or mechanical desired).
• 5+ years of experience in transient system modeling of and control algorithm development for complex engineering systems.
• Proficiency in MATLAB and Simulink.
• Interpersonal skills and proven track record to work on a team.
• Ability to learn and work with technical guidance on engine modeling, simulation, and control system analysis.
• Basic knowledge of Git / GitLab and DO-178C family.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engine and avionics systems engineers to develop and verify engine and control system performance
• Collaborate with avionics software engineers to develop and verify high level software requirements
• Develop and mature control, estimation, and system fault detection algorithms
• Develop and mature verification compliance reports for engine and control system
• Develop and mature engine and control system transient models and analyses
• Establish and mature standard work instructions for transient modeling and analysis methods
