Job summary

Blue Origin Engines is seeking a senior Systems Engineer to own the engine-level architecture for a LOX/LNG booster program. You will decompose requirements across subsystems, define interfaces with the vehicle, and lead trades with analytical rigor to optimize performance and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field.
  • 8+ years propulsion or aerospace system development.
  • Hands-on requirements and verification on flight hardware.
  • Fundamentals to engage with subsystems and engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Own engine-level systems architecture with coherent design across subsystems.
  • Decompose and allocate requirements across subsystems with traceability.
  • Define interfaces between engine subsystems and vehicle, resolving conflicts.
  • Lead engine-level trade studies with analytical rigor and clear recommendations.
  • Engage with test data, anomaly investigations, and design iterations.
  • Identify technical risks early and communicate status to leadership.
  • Serve as technical hub across stakeholders including subsystem engineers.
  • Coordinate System Safety analysis across the engine and subsystems.
  • Lead major program reviews and ensure readiness of designs.
  • Maintain configuration discipline across drawings and documents.
