Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Southwestern Veterans Center in Pittsburgh to provide compassionate, skilled nursing care to veterans and their spouses. The role emphasizes teamwork, respect, and service in a residential setting.

You will work with an interdisciplinary team to deliver safe care, manage medications, and observe residents for changes, rotating shifts and weekends.

Qualifications

• Active PA license as Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
• Must obtain PA licensure as LPN within one year if holding a temporary permit.
• PA residency requirement waived for this title.

Responsabilités

• Health Assessment Support: assist the RN by checking resident health status and ensuring confidential documentation.
• Medication Management: administer medications and treatments, verify orders, maintain accurate records.
• Resident Observation: monitor residents for changes and report findings; document daily care activities.
• Care Coordination: collaborate with the RN to plan and adjust resident care and participate in nursing committees as needed.
• Safety and Hygiene: keep residents clean, safe, and well groomed; support infection control practices.
• Specialized Care: provide focused care for residents in units such as Alzheimer care.
