Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Military and Veterans Affairs at the Southwestern Veterans Center, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide safe, compassionate care to residents. You will support the RN, administer medications, monitor health, and contribute to a respectful, secure living environment for veterans and spouses.

Shifts include 2nd and 3rd, with rotating weekends; residency in PA is waived for this title.

Qualifications

• Active authorization to practice as an LPN in PA.
• If holding a temporary practice permit, must obtain PA LPN licensure within 1 year as defined by the State Board of Nursing.
• PA residency requirement is waived for this title.
• Eligible to apply if within 60 days of completing a PA-approved LPN program.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN by checking resident health status and documenting findings.
• Administer medications and verify pharmacy orders; maintain accurate records.
• Observe residents for changes and report findings; document daily care activities.
• Assist in planning and adjusting resident care; participate in nursing committees as needed.
• Maintain infection control and ensure residents are clean, safe, and well groomed.
• Provide focused care for Alzheimer care and other specialty units.
