Job summary

Ro Health is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team at a correctional facility in Tierra Amarilla, New Mexico. This contract role offers 12-hour shifts, at least 3 days per week, with weekends required.

You will administer medications, monitor vital signs, assist with wound care, and coordinate with RNs and physicians to deliver quality patient care. Travelers receive additional pay for 50+ miles.

Qualifications

• Active New Mexico LPN license (in good standing) or compact license.
• BLS Certification from the American Heart Association.
• Ability to pass a strict background check.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications, including oral, topical, and intramuscular injections, as prescribed.
• Monitor vital signs and report abnormalities to RNs or medical providers.
• Assist with wound care, dressing changes, and basic medical treatments.
• Support mobility, hygiene, and activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed.
• Conduct health screenings and collect patient medical history.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid or CPR as necessary.
• Ensure infection control procedures and maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and mental health providers to coordinate patient care.
• Document patient care activities accurately and timely in medical records.

This position plays a vital role in providing essential healthcare services to incarcerated individuals, ensuring a safe, hygienic, and therapeutic environment within the facility.

Details:

• Location: Tierra Amarilla, New Mexico
• Schedule: at least 3 days/week, 12-hour shifts
• Must be available on weekends
• Employment Type: Contract
• Pay: higher pay for travelers who are 50 or more miles away from the facility!
