Ro Health is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team at a correctional facility in Silver City, NM.

The role involves administering medications, monitoring vitals, wound care, and assisting with ADLs to support incarcerated individuals’ health needs.

Qualifications

• Active New Mexico Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license (in good standing) or compact license.
• BLS Certification from the American Heart Association.
• Ability to pass a strict background check.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications, including oral, topical, and intramuscular injections, as prescribed.
• Monitor and record patient vital signs, reporting any abnormalities to RNs or medical providers.
• Assist with wound care, dressing changes, and basic medical treatments.
• Support patient mobility, hygiene, and activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed.
• Conduct health screenings and collect patient medical history.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid or CPR as necessary.
• Ensure proper infection control procedures and maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and mental health providers to coordinate patient care.
• Document patient care activities accurately and timely in medical records.

This position plays a vital role in providing essential healthcare services to incarcerated individuals, ensuring a safe, hygienic, and therapeutic environment within the facility.

Details

• Location: Silver City, NM
• Schedule: at least 3 days/week, 12-hour shifts
• Must be available on weekends
• Employment Type: Contract
• Pay: higher pay for travelers who are 50 or more miles away from the facility!
