Ro Health, LLC is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a correctional facility in Portales, NM. The role includes administering medications, monitoring vitals, wound care, and supporting ADLs within a secure healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Active New Mexico LPN license (in good standing) or compact license.
• BLS Certification from the American Heart Association.
• Ability to pass a strict background check.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications (oral, topical, IM) as prescribed.
• Monitor and record vital signs; report abnormalities.
• Assist with wound care, dressing changes, and basic treatments.
• Support mobility, hygiene, and ADLs as needed.
• Conduct health screenings and collect medical history.
• Respond to emergencies and provide first aid/CPR as needed.
• Ensure infection control procedures and maintain a clean environment.
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and mental health providers.
• Document care activities accurately in medical records.

Job description

Ro Health is looking for a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team at a correctional facility in Portales, NM!

This position plays a vital role in providing essential healthcare services to incarcerated individuals, ensuring a safe, hygienic, and therapeutic environment within the facility.

Schedule: 3 shifts per week (Wed-Friday: Day Shift) or (Thu-Sat: Night Shift)

Both schedules are open to either RN or LVN!

Details:

• Location: Portales, NM
• Schedule: at least 3 days/week, 12-hour shifts
• Must be available on weekends
• Employment Type: Contract
• Pay: higher pay for travelers who are 50 or more miles away from the facility!

Qualifications:

• Active New Mexico Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license (in good standing) or compact license
• BLS Certification from the American Heart Association
• Ability to pass a strict background check

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer medications, including oral, topical, and intramuscular injections, as prescribed
• Monitor and record patient vital signs, reporting any abnormalities to RNs or medical providers
• Assist with wound care, dressing changes, and basic medical treatments
• Support patient mobility, hygiene, and activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed
• Conduct health screenings and collect patient medical history
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid or CPR as necessary
• Ensure proper infection control procedures and maintain a clean, safe environment
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and mental health providers to coordinate patient care
• Document patient care activities accurately and timely in medical records
