Job summary

Ro Health is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team at a correctional facility in Las Vegas, NM. The position requires administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with wound care in a secure setting.

The contract role includes 12-hour shifts, a schedule of at least 3 days per week, and weekend availability. Higher pay is offered for travelers 50+ miles away, with comprehensive benefits through Ro Health.

Qualifications

• Active NM LPN license in good standing or compact license.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Ability to pass a strict background check.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications (oral, topical, IM) as prescribed.
• Monitor and record vital signs; report abnormalities to RNs/medical providers.
• Assist with wound care, dressing changes, and basic treatments.
• Support mobility, hygiene, and daily living activities (ADLs).
• Conduct health screenings and collect medical history.
• Respond to emergencies with first aid/CPR as needed.
• Maintain infection control and a clean, safe environment.
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and mental health providers to coordinate care.
• Document care activities accurately in medical records.

Ro Health is looking for a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team at a correctional facility in Las Vegas, NM!

This position plays a vital role in providing essential healthcare services to incarcerated individuals, ensuring a safe, hygienic, and therapeutic environment within the facility.

• Location: Las Vegas, NM


• Schedule: at least 3 days/week, 12-hour shifts


• Must be available on weekends


• Employment Type: Contract


• Pay: higher pay for travelers who are 50 or more miles away from the facility!

Qualifications

• Active New Mexico Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license (in good standing) or compact license

Key Responsibilities

• Administer medications, including oral, topical, and intramuscular injections, as prescribed


• Monitor and record patient vital signs, reporting any abnormalities to RNs or medical providers


• Assist with wound care, dressing changes, and basic medical treatments


• Support patient mobility, hygiene, and activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed


• Conduct health screenings and collect patient medical history


• Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid or CPR as necessary


• Ensure proper infection control procedures and maintain a clean, safe environment


• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and mental health providers to coordinate patient care


• Document patient care activities accurately and timely in medical records
