Job summary

Armor Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the team at Riverside County Jail on a PRN night shift (7p–7a).

You will provide holistic nursing care in a correctional setting, support physicians and RNs, collect histories, perform TB tests, administer medications, and document all patient contacts using the POMR format. Current California LPN licensure and CPR are required, with background check and drug screen necessary.

Qualifications

• Current/licensed as an LPN in the state of California (or applicable state).
• CPR certification is required.
• Proficient with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic nursing care to patients in a correctional setting.
• Assist physicians and nurses with examinations, treatments, and tests.
• Obtain health history, vitals, and administer TB skin tests.
• Perform lab testing and relay results to the responsible clinician.
• Monitor patient condition and coordinate transfers as needed.
• Document contacts and orders in the POMR format.
• Administer medications and follow practitioner orders.

** This is a PRN position on Night shift (7p-7a) **

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic nursing care to patients in a correctional setting.
• Assist health care providers, registered nurses, and allied health professionals with examinations, treatments, special tests, and routine procedures.
• Obtain patient health history, laboratory specimens, vital signs and administers TB skin tests.
• Conduct lab tests and ensures the results are delivered to the correct physician or registered nurse.
• Ensure patient is receiving proper care for injury or condition.
• Review patient chart; records and reports observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in patient’s conditions.
• Coordinate patient transfers to medical facilities or outside health care providers; administer medications; implement healthcare practitioners' orders; and document all patient contacts using the POMR format.

Qualifications

• Current/Active state license as an LPN
• Current CPR certificate
• Proficient with electronic medical records
• Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance to include a background check and drug screen
