Job summary

The position requires BLS certification within 45 days, completion of an accredited PN program, and an emphasis on patient care, documentation, and collaboration with physicians and nurses.

The role includes administering medications, IV therapy within scope, and providing patient education.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 45 days.
• Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
• No prior experience required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; strong organization and problem solving.
• Proficient computer skills including keyboarding and exposure to electronic medical records systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and room the patient for exam, obtain vital signs and document health information.
• Perform laboratory procedures using aseptic technique and standard precautions.
• Assist physician with procedures and surgeries listed in the description.
• Administer medications under orders, including immunizations and insulin.
• Initiate and maintain IV therapy within scope of practice.
• Provide patient education on tasks and self-care.
• Coordinate tests, prescriptions, and referrals as needed.
• Document information accurately and communicate with care team.
• Perform advanced clinical tasks under supervision (e.g., sutures, catheterization, EKG).
