Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for our Charlotte, NC facility. The role involves preparing patients for exams, administering medications under orders, and assisting healthcare providers with procedures, while maintaining patient safety and quality care.

The position requires completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program and an active LPN license, with BLS certification obtained within 45 days.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state where practice is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification within 45 days unless exempted by department leader.
• Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and room patients, obtain vital signs, and document health information.
• Perform laboratory procedures using aseptic technique and infection control guidelines.
• Assist physicians with procedures and surgeries.
• Administer medications under physician orders, including vaccines and insulin.
• Initiate and manage IV therapy within scope and safety guidelines.
• Educate patients on tasks, treatment, and self-care; coordinate referrals.
