Job summary

Maxim Healthcare, based in the Richmond, VA area, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide in-home care for pediatric and/or adult patients. The position offers flexible pay with a range of $30–$35 per hour, negotiable based on experience and skill.

Eligible employees receive comprehensive benefits and weekly paychecks. Responsibilities include planning and delivering nursing care, initiating care plans, administering medications, and coordinating discharge and teaching needs.

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license for the state in which the nurse practices.
• Current Health Certificate per facility contract or state regulation.
• Current PPD or Chest X-Ray.
• Current BLS card.
• One year LPN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for clients receiving contracted services.
• Initiates the plan of care and requests revisions as patient status changes.
• Implements therapeutic, preventive, and rehabilitative nursing actions based on diagnoses and goals.
• Responds to changes in patient condition and reports to physician or supervisor.
• Administers medications and treatments per prescriptions and documents effectiveness.
• Reviews care plans and protocols to identify education and discharge planning needs.

Responsibilities:

• Utilizes the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate patient/client care and/or services provided to client(s) receiving contracted services, as required
• Initiates the plan of care when directed and requests from prescriber any necessary revisions as patient status and needs change
• Incorporates therapeutic, preventive, and rehabilitative nursing actions based on patient diagnosis and established goals
• Intervenes as applicable in response to changes in patient/client condition and reports such changes to appropriate physician or supervisor
• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed, as well as, monitors and documents effectiveness of intervention
• Reviews plan of care and program protocols and identifies areas for healthcare teaching/education, care coordination, goal setting and discharge planning needs, as applicable

Requirements:

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License for the state in which the nurse practices.
• Current Health Certificate (per facility Licensed Practical Nurse(LPN) contract or state regulation).
• Current PPD or Chest X-Ray.
• Current BLS card.
• One year prior Licensed Practical Nurse(LPN) experience preferred.
