Job summary

Florida Department of Health in Polk County is seeking a licensed practical nurse (LPN) to join the HIV/AIDS Polk clinics and Ryan White program. You will work with ARNPs and physicians to provide hands-on nursing care, vaccines, and patient education.

The role includes maintaining electronic health records, assisting with examinations, and contributing to disaster preparedness efforts as a county health employee.

Qualifications

• Requires licensure as a practical nurse in FL or eligibility per state rules.
• Strong nursing knowledge and ability to follow medical instructions.
• Experience with vaccines, medications and patient care workflows is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Manage clinic flow for scheduled and walk-in patients with staff supervision.
• Assist ARNPs/physicians and act as resource for LPNs and students.
• Order and administer medications and vaccines daily as needed.
• Enter immunization histories and ensure accurate documentation.
• Take vital signs and perform basic clinical assessments.
• Support clerical tasks, record keeping, and care coordination activities.
