Job summary

Carle Health in central Illinois is seeking an LPN for the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit. You will work with RNs on high-acuity patients, assist with care plans after the RN's initial assessment, and perform standard LPN duties on a 43-bed unit.

The role includes medication administration, IV piggybacks, trach and ostomy care, wound care, and close collaboration with surgical residents and staff to provide safe, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• LPN certification in Illinois (IDFPR)
• BLS within 30 days (AHA)

Responsibilities

• Passes all medications and hangs IV piggybacks and fluids.
• Charts assessments on assigned patients after the RN's initial assessment.
• Charts on care plans, with RN opening new plans as needed.
• Coordinates with physicians/APPs for orders and dressing changes.
• Inserts and cares for NG tube and feedings; ostomy care; reinforce discharge instructions.
