Job summary

Health Advocates Network in Columbia, SC is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct patient care in a correctional healthcare setting. You will administer medications, monitor vitals, document care in the EMR, and support patient assessments under RN/physician supervision.

The role requires a current SC LPN license, at least 1 year of recent LPN experience, and compliance with PSV and certifications such as BLS.

Qualifications

• Current SC LPN license in good standing.
• Minimum of 1 year within the last 3 years as an LPN.
• Copy of PSV from licensing board or verification agency if required.
• Copy of all current required certifications (e.g., BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision of a RN or physician.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and record patients' vital signs and report changes.
• Assist with patient assessments and implement care plans.
• Document patient care accurately in the EMR.
• Educate patients and families on health maintenance and treatment plans.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment.
• Follow facility infection control policies and regulatory standards.

Travel Pay:

Travel Rate (based on 36 hours): Hourly $18.02, Stipend (Lodging $623.00 M&I $301.00) = $924.00,

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and record patients’ vital signs and report changes in condition.
• Assist with patient assessments and implement individualized care plans.
• Perform wound care, specimen collection, and other basic nursing procedures.
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Educate patients and families on health maintenance and treatment plans.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for patients.
• Follow facility policies, infection control protocols, and regulatory standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current, valid, and unrestrictedSouth Carolina license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.
• Minimum of 1 year within the last 3 years of recent experience as aLPN
• Copy of current, completedPrimary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., .BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test,..)
