Job summary

Qualifications

• Education from an accredited nursing program resulting in LPN licensure.
• Current license in the state of employment (Illinois).
• IV Certification required or willing to obtain within six months of employment.
• CPR/AED Certification required or willing to obtain within six months of employment.
• Ability to assess basic nursing care needs of geriatric residents.
• Excellent communication with residents, families and staff.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Must possess critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care and assist in resident assessments on admission and ongoing.
• Communicate significant changes to the IDT and families and document appropriately.
• Ensure interventions including medication administration are performed safely and timely.
• Administer IV therapy only if IV certified.
• Participate in care planning and update care plans as interventions change.
• Respond to call lights and assist with ADLs as needed.
• Maintain professionalism and uphold Bethesda policies.
