Job summary

Care Initiatives is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team as Charge Nurse (LPN). The position offers Full-Time and Part-Time Weekend Package Days with a competitive hourly rate and shift differential in Iowa.

As Charge Nurse, you will supervise nursing staff, conduct assessments, administer medications, and coordinate resident care with the interdisciplinary team, while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations and delivering compassionate,

Qualifications

Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing in Iowa.
Current CPR certification.
State-approved LPN Supervisory Course completed or ability to obtain within first 90 days.
Knowledge of federal and state long-term care regulations.
Empathy, respect, patience and discretion in care.

Responsibilities

Conduct ongoing assessments of residents’ clinical status and contribute to care planning with the team.
Deliver and oversee direct nursing care, including wound care and IV therapy as permitted.
Administer medications and treatments, monitor responses and document accurately.
Serve as clinical leader on the unit, coordinating care and communicating with physicians and families.
Supervise and support Certified Nursing Assistants and other staff, promoting teamwork and quality care.
Ensure adherence to regulations and infection control practices.
Provide education and emotional support to residents and families.
