Position

Title: 1:1 LPN

Location: Chelmsford High School

General Description

The Nurse (LPN) will provide 1:1 medical and ADL support for a student with specialized health care needs. This position will also support the student with accommodations in the special education classroom to access learning.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid Commonwealth of Massachusetts license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
• Valid and current certification in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and AED from a recognized provider (e.g., American Heart Association).
• Nursing experience in community or child health; experience in pediatrics is preferred.
• Understanding of child growth and development.
• Ability to think critically and react decisively in emergency situations.
• Demonstrated effective communication with students, staff members, and parents and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, kneel, and talk or hear.
• Must be able to respond quickly in an emergency.
• Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
