Job summary

Ro Health, LLC in Wilmington, NC is seeking a School Health Nurse to join our team for school-based care. The nurse will work 1:1 with students, coordinate with families and school staff, and respond to health needs during school hours.

The role offers a Monday–Friday schedule with no holidays or nights, competitive hourly pay, PTO, benefits, and on-site clinical supervision during school hours. Training is provided to support Diastat, G-tube, and chronic condition management.

Qualifications

• Active, North Carolina Nursing License (Active Compact License Acceptable)
• CPR/BLS Certification is required for clinical duties.
• Current Negative TB Result is required for employment.

Responsibilities

• Working 1:1 with a patient directly in the school with one or more chronic conditions.
• Manage the care of students with chronic health conditions by coordinating with healthcare providers, teachers, and parents.
• Provide first aid and emergency care for injuries or sudden illnesses.
• Develop and implement emergency response plans and drills.
• Maintain accurate and confidential health records.
• Communicate with parents regarding their child\'s health status and follow-up needs.
• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods; assist with lifting up to 40 pounds.

Overview:

• Specialty: School Health, Pediatrics, Special Education
• Locations available include: Wilmington, Brunswick, Burgaw, and the surrounding regions
• Positions Available:
  • Full Time (>30 hrs/week)
  • Per Diem (1-2 days/week availability minimum)
• Shift: May vary, approximately school hours, anywhere between 7:00am-3/4:00pm.
• Days: Monday through Friday, no holidays, weekends, or nights
• Target Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities may include:

• Manage the care of students with chronic health conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes) by coordinating with healthcare providers, teachers, and parents
• Provide first aid and emergency care for injuries or sudden illnesses
• Develop and implement emergency response plans and drills
• Maintain accurate and confidential health records
• Communicate with parents regarding their child's health status, concerns, and recommended follow-up care
• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time
• Potential need to frequently bend, crouch, and lift (up to 40 pounds)

Qualifications:

• Active, North Carolina Nursing License (Active Compact License Acceptable)
• CPR/BLS Certification
• Current Negative TB Result
