Job summary

Ro Health is seeking a licensed School Nurse to support students in Kinston, NC. Work hours align with school schedules, Monday through Friday, with shifts around 6:30am–3/4:00pm. Positions include full-time (>30 hrs/week) and PRN options, starting ASAP.

Compensation ranges from $28 to $32 per hour, with PTO accrual, medical/dental/vision coverage, a 401k with employer match, paid orientation, and on-call clinical supervision during school hours.

Qualifications

• Active NC nursing license (Compact allowed).
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Current TB test results (negative).

Responsibilities

• Work 1:1 with students in the school setting with various health needs.
• Coordinate care for chronic conditions with families, teachers, and providers.
• Provide first aid and emergency care; develop and drill safety plans.
• Maintain confidential health records and communicate health status to parents.

Education

North Carolina Nursing License (Active Compact License Acceptable)

Overview:

• Positions Available:
  • Full Time (>30 hrs/week)
  • PRN (1-2 days/week availability minimum)
• Shift: May vary, approximately school hours, anywhere between 6:30am-3/4:00pm.
• Days: Monday through Friday, no holidays, weekends, or nights
• Target Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities may include:

• Working 1:1 with a patient directly in the school with one or more of the following conditions (G-tube, trach, catheter, diabetes, seizures, vision impairments, wheelchair bound, ADL's etc)
• Manage the care of students with chronic health conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes) by coordinating with healthcare providers, teachers, and parents
• Provide first aid and emergency care for injuries or sudden illnesses
• Develop and implement emergency response plans and drills
• Maintain accurate and confidential health records
• Communicate with parents regarding their child's health status, concerns, and recommended follow-up care
• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time
• Potential need to frequently bend, crouch, and lift (up to 40 pounds)

Qualifications:
